NIXSOLUTIONS: Apple Intelligence Enabled by Default

Supported Devices and Activation Process

The update will only apply to devices compatible with Apple Intelligence, which includes the iPhone 15 Pro and later models, iPads and Macs equipped with Apple Silicon M1 or newer, and the latest iPad mini. When users install or upgrade to macOS 18.3, Apple Intelligence activates automatically once they sign in. Accessing its features requires completing the device setup process.

If users prefer not to use these features, they can disable Apple Intelligence. To do so, they must navigate to the Apple Intelligence & Siri preferences pane and switch off the Apple Intelligence toggle. This action will deactivate all related functionalities on the device.

Key Features and Recent Updates

Apple Intelligence introduces tools such as AI-driven notification summaries, the Image Playground, and text-rewriting capabilities. However, Apple emphasizes that users who do not wish to use these features must manually disable the option after updating.

Recently, beta testers of iOS 18.3 reported an issue where Apple Intelligence misinterpreted a BBC headline in news and entertainment apps, reminds NIXSOLUTIONS. As a result, an update now pauses AI activity in such apps if inaccuracies arise. Apple has also worked to improve notification summaries, making them easier to identify on the iPhone’s lock screen. Still, the company notes that these summaries “may contain errors.”

As Apple continues to refine its AI capabilities, we’ll keep you updated on any additional features or improvements included in upcoming releases.
