Apple is set to introduce a new event organization and invitation service, codenamed Confetti, as part of iCloud. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the official announcement is expected next week. The service aims to provide “a new way to invite people to parties, events, and meetings.”
Gurman noted that Apple has been working on updating the Calendar app for years, and Confetti may be the first step in this direction. He also mentioned that the service is linked to iOS 18.3, which began rolling out in late January.
Features and Integration
Reports about Apple’s new service surfaced last month when references to it appeared in the iOS 18.3 beta code. Analysts concluded that Confetti is designed to help users organize meetings and personal events. While the Calendar app already serves a similar function, the new Invites app is expected to offer additional features.
According to 9to5Mac, the code suggests that Invites will integrate with iCloud and have a web version on iCloud.com. The app will also connect with iOS 18.3’s GroupKit, a tool for managing database models for groups.
The service will display a list of invited guests and track confirmations. It is also expected to feature a more modern and user-friendly interface than the current Calendar app, adds NIX Solutions.

Apple’s move to enhance event planning tools reflects its broader strategy of refining its ecosystem. By introducing Confetti, the company aims to simplify event organization with better integration and usability.
