Apple developers are integrating AI-powered features into the beta versions of their main operating systems iOS, iPadOS, and the next generation macOS. In iOS 18.1 beta 3 for developers, a new feature called Clean Up has been implemented, utilizing neural network capabilities to remove unwanted objects from images.
The Clean Up feature allows users to remove selected objects from a photo without affecting the rest of the image. Users can simply click on the object they want to remove, and it will disappear with a single touch. Additionally, unwanted objects can be outlined or shaded with a brush for more precise removal.
Advanced AI and Ongoing Development
The Clean Up feature employs a neural network to create a natural background in place of the removed object. According to the developers, the algorithm performs well even when dealing with shadows or reflections of the removed object on any surface in the photo.
Apple has been testing an initial set of Apple Intelligence AI features since July. New tools are continuously being added to the iOS 18.1 beta, which is available to developers. Currently, AI features include the ability to generate and edit texts and messages, advanced email tools, photo editing tools, and more, notes NIXSolutions.
We’ll keep you updated on the progress of these AI-powered features as Apple continues to refine and expand their capabilities. As the development process unfolds, users can expect to see more innovative applications of artificial intelligence in future iOS updates.
The integration of AI technology into Apple’s operating systems represents a significant step forward in enhancing user experience and productivity. As these features evolve, they have the potential to revolutionize how users interact with their devices and manage their digital content.
