Notable Innovations in iPadOS 18 Beta 2

Several notable innovations can be highlighted in iPadOS 18 beta 2. The platform received support for alternative application stores in the European Union, as well as the ability to make payments in the App Store through third-party payment systems. To comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in the EU, Apple had to add a default browser selection screen to iPadOS, and also allow developers to create web browsers not only based on the Safari engine. All the mentioned changes arrived in iOS 17.4 in March this year, and now they have also made their way to iPadOS.

New Features in iOS 18 Beta 2

As for iOS 18 beta 2 itself, it introduces support for iPhone screen mirroring in macOS Sequoia beta 2. This will allow the user to control their iPhone from a Mac computer, while the smartphone will remain locked at this time. This feature was first announced at WWDC. In addition, there is a new toggle to enable the RCS protocol, which is supported in iOS 18. This toggle will appear if the user’s carrier supports RCS.

Currently, these updates are available in the beta versions of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, intended for developers, notes NIX Solutions. Public versions of the OS should appear next month. We’ll keep you updated with any further developments.
